Vista Dog Rescue

Around 10:30 pm Saturday night, Vista Fire Department responded to the intersection of North Citrus Avenue and East Indian Rock Avenue in Vista for a reported dog stuck in a storm drain. Firefighters arrived to the sounds of a whimpering dog echoing throughout the neighborhood. A firefighter put on a breathing apparatus and made his way into the storm drain where he handed up a small and limp dog who was obviously dehydrated. Firefighters mixed water and glucose and fed it to the dog though a syringe while giving it oxygen. San Diego Humane was never able to provide an accurate ETA and after an hour of waiting, a San Diego County Sheriff’s K-9 unit rushed the injured dog to a 24 hour vet.
