Vernon Fatal MC Crash


VERNON (CNS) – A motorcyclist was killed Thursday in a crash on the southbound Long Beach (710) Freeway in Vernon, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Juan Duran Jr., 23, of Los Angeles died at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 1:50 a.m. where the freeway crosses over Atlantic Boulevard, according to the coroner’s office and the CHP.

Duran was operating a 2004 Yamaha R6 motorcycle when it hit a guardrail and he was ejected over the side of the freeway, landing about 30 feet below on the northbound lanes of Atlantic Boulevard, the CHP reported.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash was urged to call the CHP East Los Angeles Area office at (323) 980-4600.
