Around 11:30pm, Fresno Fire and Fort Bend Sheriff deputies responded to the intersection of Post Oak & Sycamore for a reported crash. One male was transported with major injuries by air and deputies are holding the scene in case it turns into a fatality. According to a witness, the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed with one tire having been shredded and riding on the rim. The vehicle sped up as it went into the intersection and crashed through multiple trees, ending up ~50 feet off the road. The good samaritans used machetes to reach the victim and called EMS to respond. The tire marks could be seen all the way from Teal Oak to Sycamore, on Post Oak, and GPS shows that distance to be approximately .3 miles (~1500 feet). It is unclear why the victim was traveling at such a high rate of speed or why he was driving on a rim out of the neighborhood he, per a witness, supposedly lives in. Deputies were unable to speak to the victim due to his injuries and are holding the scene in case it turns into a fatality. Please see SOT with two of the good samaritans for more information.
