Around 2:15am, a Pct. 7 Constable put out a help call after his vehicle was struck by a truck on the eastbound Beltway, just west of the Airport exit. The constable vehicle, possibly parked on the side of the beltway, was sideswiped by the other vehicle, popping both of the left side tires and damaging the patrol vehicle on the left side. The deputy was unable to exit the vehicle due to back injuries and had to be loaded on a stretcher by paramedics. He was transported to SW Memorial Hermann and the other driver was checked out as well but appeared uninjured. The driver was given field sobriety tests and will be taken back to the station to determine if he is impaired. The truck involved ended up approximately a few hundred yards from the patrol vehicle and deputies on scene would provide no other information.
