Around 6:45 p.m. Saturday evening, SDSO and Vista Fire responded to a reported traffic collision on Vista Village Drive just west of Camino Corto. Arriving units found a male in his mid 30’s who had been struck by a vehicle at a high rate of speed. The force of the collision actually shattered the front windshield of the red Prius. The driver of the vehicle was not hurt but the male pedestrian suffered major life threatening head injuries and was rushed to a local trauma center. The right two lanes on Vista Village Drive will be shut down for an unknown duration as deputies conduct their investigation. Contact SDSO for additional details.
