DATE/TIME OF INCIDENT: 10-09-17 Approx: 12:45 p.m.
LOCATION:San Pasqual Valley, Bandy Canyon Area
- A vegetation fire broke out at around 12:45 p.m. this afternoon in the San Pasqual Valley of Escondido. The fire was isolated in the eastern end of San Pasqual Valley’s Bandy Canyon. The fire at this time covered an area of about 8-10 acres. Air support was brought in and were making drops which quickly doused flames on the western edge of Bandy Canyon. The fire remains active at this time. The Incident Commander (PIO was not onscene for comment) for Cal-Fire were prepared to offer any additional information at this time. The incident is an ongoing fire and cause of the fire has yet to be determined. About thirty units were fighting the fire with more units en route.
