Cal-Fire and fire units from the local area at around 2:45 p.m. this afternoon responded to the report of a brush fire on I-15 northbound just north of the Deer Springs exit. Seven fire engines, two helicopters and several air units responded and quickly extinguished the blaze. At no time was traffic halted on I-15 Northbound but Champagne Drive was shutdown and remains so at this time while fire crews cleanup hot spots. The fire did cross to the east side of Champagne Drive but was quickly extinguished. Cause of the fire remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
