Monday at approximately 5:30 a.m., Riverside Fire Department responded to a vehicle vs a tree at the intersection of Sherman Drive and Magnolia Ave. When arriving on scene, crews located a black Ford Explorer SUV with heavy tc damage. The driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition and the passenger, a dog, was rescued from the wreck uninjured by a RPD Officer who released it to animal control. The cause of the crash is under investigation and it’s unknown if alcohol or drugs may have been a factor in the collision. RPD is handling the investigation.
