At 2:14 a.m. Thursday morning, LAFD responded to a reported house fire in the 16500 block of W Las Casas Pl. Arriving firefighters located a house well involved with extensions into a second home, and began operations to attack the blaze. Knockdown was achieved in approximately 20 minutes. Five patients were transported in unknown condition to a local hospital, and one cat was reported deceased at the scene. Arson investigators have been requested due to the suspicious nature of the fire, and Animal Control was requested for the deceased pet.

Fire started in one home and extended to adjacent home (extent of damage to 2nd home unk). 5 patients, one in critical condition the other 4 conditions UNK, currently being treated and transported. 67M 14F 53F (critical condition) 17F and 5th patient age/gender UNK.
