Pasadena Triple Big Rig Crash
At 1:04 a.m. Friday morning, CHP responded to a reported big rig crash on the eastbound 210 Freeway near Sierra Madre Blvd off ramp. Crews arriving located three big rigs, with one of them jack-knifed. One patient was transported in unknown condition to a local hospital. Weather is being investigated as a factor in the crash. CHP Altadena will be handling the investigation.
105 Fatal Big Rig Roll over
At 1:23 a.m. Friday morning, CHP responded to a reported traffic collision on the westbound 105 and northbound 710 at the westbound 105 connector. A big rig tractor overturned, pinning the driver’s arm and causing a fuel leak. The driver was extricated, and transported in stable condition to a local hospital. One patient was declared deceased at the scene, but it is unknown how the patient was related to the crash. CHP East LA Office will be handling the investigation.
DTLA Street Flooding
At approximately 11:25 p.m. Thursday night, LAPD notified units in the field to exercise caution near the intersection of Maple and Washington, due to heavy flooding in the roadway. DWP was requested to the location to clear the storm drains, but due to high call volume they are delayed in their response. Currently not ETA for DWP to this location. Footage shows vehicles traveling through roadway flooding at speed.
Expo-Park Northbound I-110 Rain Crash
Again, at 10:28 PM, LAFD and CHP responded to the Northbound I-110 freeway just past the Martin Luther King Jr exit where a sedan and pick up truck collided. The sedan stopped in lanes, and a passing tow truck driver was able to stop and block lanes until CHP arrived on scene. The driver of the pick up truck and sedan suffered minor injuries and were not transported. Traffic was opened again after roughly ten minutes.
South LA Southbound I-110 Rain Crash
At 10:00 p.m. Thursday night, CHP responded to a reported traffic collision on the southbound 110 Freeway near Vermont. A driver lost control of their vehicle and overturned. The cause of the crash is possibly due to rain and weather conditions. No serious injuries were reported. CHP Central LA Office will be handling the investigation.
Around 5:00 PM Thursday evening, rain began to fall over most of the Los Angeles area, making the evening commute slippery on roads and freeways.
