LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Police shot an armed suspect tonight in Hyde Park. The officer-involved shooting occurred around 10 p.m. in the area of 63rd Street and Crenshaw Boulevard where officers with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Metropolitan Division were doing crime suppression, said Officer Mike Lopez of the LAPD’s Media Relations Division. Officers observed the male suspect with the gun and that’s when an officer-involved shooting occurred, Lopez said, although it was not immediately clear what exactly prompted officers to fire on the suspect. The suspect was taken to a hospital in stable condition. The LAPD’s Force Investigation Division is handling the investigation, Lopez said.
