Around 9:30pm Thursday,  Los Angeles Fire responded to a reported high rise fire located at 550 S. Flower Street. Firefighters arrived to a fire out on the roof caused by a faulty swimming pool heater. Water from the pool flooded the 10th thru 12th floors. The residents had to be evacuated and will be displaced during the major clean up.

Downtown; Multistory high-rise hotel, no smoke or fire showing but
reports of a loud noise on the roof and a fire sprinkler activation on
the 12th floor. LAFD investigating an electrical vault as a potential

*UPDATE: 550 S Flower St* Possible pool heater on roof malfunctioned. No
smoke or fire. Approx 50 firefighters working on water removal,
primarily on floors 12, 11, and a minimal amount on 10. No injury, NFD.
