Apple Valley Fire Station Suspicious Fire


At 3:57am on Monday, Apple Valley Fire Protection District received reports of a structure fire in the area of Highway 18 and Central Road in Apple Valley. Fire crews at station 331 on Headquarters Drive, were awoken by the call and looked out the window of the fire station, due to the location of the call, and  saw a glow out back of the fire station. They proceeded outside to find an out building well involved with fire. They immediately went into attack mode to extinguish the fire. During further investigation they found that vehicles had appeared to be burglarized, as well as a door leading into the station had been tampered with. San Bernardino County Sheriff and Bombs and Arson were requested due to the circumstances. Upon arrival of the incoming units they found a vehicle stuck on the curb just outside of the yard of the fire station. According to sheriff on scene one person of interest was detained at the scene. Authorities could not comment on the materials out side of the car, including a Fire hose, Fire helmet, and other unknown items. No injuries were reported,
